We graduated from Dresden High School in north west Tennessee. The community will always hold a special place in our hearts. We’ve seen the support from Weakley County starting in Dresden, following to Nashville when Matt played at Belmont and now following along all the places Matt has played since being drafted by the Dodgers in 2015.
If we’ve learned anything through this baseball journey so far (and trust me, we’ve learned a lot), it’s how this journey is, can be and will be bigger than baseball.
We’ve always wanted to have something of own to help people and communities. We felt this scholarship fund was a good place to start and a perfect way to give back to the youth in the community we grew up in.
We want to be the inspiration, motivation and helpful resources for any and every student and athlete back home so they believe they can achieve big dreams too.
In October 2019, we founded the Matt Beaty Scholarship Fund. We plan to use the fund to help Weakley County student athletes play at the next level. The funds will also be used to help local sports programs.
Each year in November the Beatys will host the Beaty Scholarship Weekend which will consist of a golf tournament, Picnic at the Park and baseball camp. We hosted our first Matt Beaty Scholarship Weekend on Nov. 9 and 10. We're estimating we raised over $20,000 for the youth in Weakley County!
