he's chasing dreams hitting seams.
she's chasing dreams talking sports.
The last couple of days have been crazy. Especially for us in the sports world. If you hadn’t heard, spring training was cancelled yesterday and the regular season pushed back at least two weeks.
I’ve debated writing anything because there are still a lot of unknowns and confusion.
What we know as of now is we’re going to be staying in Arizona. Matt will still be going to Camelback Ranch to workout everyday. This could change, but for us, it just makes sense to stay in Arizona.
They’ve given the options of staying, going to your team’s city or going to your “offseason” home. We don’t have a home really so that’s doesn’t really make sense. We still have our place in Arizona until the end of the month at least so that makes the most sense for us as of now.
Anything really past March 25 we’re not sure what is going to be going on/where we will be. Hopefully by Sunday the guys will know more/what the next month looks like/timetable.
I still can’t really wrap my mind around what has been happening. It still feels so weird. Part of me is angry. Another part is worried because of the added unknowns. Another part of me is at peace knowing this is what is best for everyone’s health especially those like my grandmother and my friends with small kiddos.
At the end of the day, this is just a game and if this is what the experts think is necessary then fine. I struggle with this because I just think about how hard Matt has worked this offseason. And how much we were looking forward to another season. But baseball is going to be played at some point and everything will be fine but it’s still hard.
To the fans, we appreciate all of the support and patience. Trust me we want baseball back just as much as you do.
Everyone please be smart. Wash your hands. Don’t go out if you don’t feel well. If you're able, help those around you. We’re going to get through this together.
